报道说，彼得雷乌斯（David Petraeus）因为被曝出与自传作者布罗德维尔（Paula Broadwell）有不正常关系，于9日宣布辞职。外界有些报道将布罗德维尔形容成勾引彼得雷乌斯的坏女人，布罗德维尔的父亲克兰兹（Paul Kranz）在接受纽约《每日新闻》采访时跳出来为女儿喊冤，声称女儿是事件的牺牲者，而且外遇事件只是烟雾弹，目的是要遮掩背后更大的丑闻。
不过他不愿说明所谓的更大事件是指什么，仅表示要大家拭目以待。布罗德维尔丈夫的父亲与祖母也表示，家族事前完全不知情，他们都是看电视才知道的，所有人都感到非常震惊。对于布罗德维尔的外遇，祖母认为，她是个聪明的人，应该不会做出这种事。
婚外情女主角布罗德维尔至今没有发表任何评论。《纽约时报》报道则称，联邦调查局（FBI）与司法部是在夏末得知此事，并在10月21日首度审问布罗德维尔，她当场承认与彼得雷乌斯的关系。彼得雷乌斯则是在隔周接受审讯，他也承认布罗德维尔是外遇对象，但表示并未提供她任何机密文件。

美国一女子因不满奥巴马连任开车碾压丈夫(图)
开车碾压丈夫的荷莉
美国亚利桑那州一位名叫荷莉的女子，因怀疑丈夫弃投致奥巴马连任，一气之下开车碾压丈夫。
警方表示，28岁的荷莉在碾压丈夫丹尼尔之前，曾与丈夫在当地一停车场内发生过争吵，之后丹尼尔试图逃跑，但被荷莉驾驶吉普车碾压。事情发生后，丹尼尔被送往当地的一家医院抢救，目前仍然处于危险状态。
警察桑格说：“丹尼尔曾称，妻子荷莉获悉奥巴马连任后，家里的日子不好过。”
据悉，事发前，荷莉既没有喝酒，也没有吸食毒品。目前，她面临严重家庭暴力的指控。
